Censorship and Education
There is a lot of discussion about MySpace, the online web space available for people of any age to create a profile and have this information accessible to others (one of the facilitites provided by the free online tool). A blog posting this week by Andy Carvin, "The Word that Will Get Your Blog Censored by Texas Schools" discusses this in relation to the use of MySpace.
What do you think of this?? How far should censorship of online material and websites go?

I agree with all the people. Censorship could block educational stuffs or other information that people are looking for. Likewise a person finally found a information that he was looking for but, if it's blocked by censorship program or other ways, it'll take more time to search for him. Also Censorship is blocking from people 'right to know'.

After reading through Andy Carvin and Wes's perspective of the entire cencorship issue, it is quite clear we're no longer dealing with just "cencorship" as an issue, but "safety" too.
When looking at it from the perspective of the American people, their need for a safer community, and their need for freedom are two major privilidges which they have always felt they've had a right over. However, what they dont understand is, that due to the world NOT being perfect, and each individual NOT being a perfect human being, when one or the either issue is not used with the proper moral and ethical supervised tasks, one of the two issues suffers in order to bring the other to the level of satisfaction of the people. When giving the people complete freedom with all the material on the net, the safety levels tremendously drop, thus in order to build a safer environment, freedom must be sacrificed, or vice-versa.
However, personally i agree with Andy Carvin. Blocking social electronic grounds, like "My Sp@ce" would remove an essential resource for people of all ages to communicate, educationally, and socially. As human beings, to make mistakes and deal with the concequences in merely a lesson of life. If all the content on the net were to be open to the public, then it would reduce the level of propoganda in our Government and society.
